Product Description: COMPOSITION:
Each 1ml contains:
Sodium Sulfadimidine 33.3mg.

PHARMACOLOGICAL:
Pharmacodynamics
(1) This product has good antibacterial action for gram-positive and negative bacterium, eg. pyogenic streptococcus, salmonellosis, and pneumobacillus, and so on. The effect of sulphonamide can be resisted by para aminobenzoic acid its derivatives.
Pharmacokinetics
(2) The pharmacokinetic characteristics of this product is similar as sulfadiazine. Single plasma protein combined rate is high, so excretion is slower than sulfadiazine. Its acetylate solubility rate is high, so the incidence of precipitation crystallization in the malpighian tube is low, and it is not easy to result in crystalluria or hematuresis.

INDICATIONS: 
It is mainly used for the treatment of pasteurellosis, mammitis, Endometritis, peritonitis, septicaemia, respiratory tract infection, digestive tract infection, and urinary tract infection caused by livestock sensitive bacteria. It also can be used to cure swine atrophic rhintis, hammer germs, pigs toxoplasma, and coccidiosis, and so on.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
For intravenous injection.
Livestock: 50-100mg/kg. bodyweight twice a day for 2-3 days.

WARNING: 
1. During the application of sulphonamide, lots of water should be given to sick animals, in order to prevent the occurrence of crystallization urine. When necessary, animals can also take sodium bicarbonate or other alkaline drugs.
2. When the kidney function is damaged, the excretion is slow, so the animals should use with caution.
3. This product can precipitate crystallization when meet acid, therefore, should not be diluted with 5% glucose solution.
4. Pay attention to cross reactivity.

ADVERSE REACTIONS:
1. The sulfanilamide or its metabolites may cause precipitation in the urine; and at high doses are more likely to produce crystalline when long-term drug delivery, thereby, it may cause crystallization urine, hematuria, or renal tubular plug.
2. Intravenous injection for horses may cause temporary paralysis.
3. The sulfanilamide injection is strong alkaline solution, so it has strong excitant to body tissue.
