Procaine penicillin G and Dihydrostreptomycin sulphate Injection(20:20)

COMPOSITION:
Contains per ml: 
Procaine penicillin G ............ 200 000 IU. 
Dihydrostreptomycin sulphate.......200 000 IU. 
Solvents ad......................1ml. 

CHARACTER:
The product is colorless clear liquid.

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION:
The combination of procaine penicillin G and dihydrostreptomycin acts additive and in some cases synergistic. Procaine penicillin G is a smal spectrum penicillin with a bactericidal action against mainly Gram-positive bacteria like Campylobacter, Clostridium, Corynebacterium, Erysipelothrix, Haemophilus, Listeria, Pasteurella, penicillinase negative Staphylococcus and Streptococcus spp. Dihydrostreptomycin is an aminoglycoside with a bactericidal action against mainly Gram-negative bacteria like E. coli, Klebsiella, Pasteurella, Salmonella, and Staphylococcus spp. 

INDICATIONS: 
Arthritis, mastitis and gastrointestinal, respiratory and urinary tract infections caused by penicillin and dihydrostreptomycin sensitive micro-organisms, like Campylobacter, Clostridium, Corynebacterium, E. coli, Erysipelothrix, Haemophilus, Klebsiella, Listeria, Pasteurella, Salmonella, Staphylococcus, and Streptococcus spp., in calves, cattle, goats, sheep, and swin.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
For intramuscular administration. Never intravenously. Shake well before use.
Cattle, horses: 1 ml. per 20 kg. body weight daily for 3-5 days. 
Sheep, goats, and pigs : 1 ml. per 20 kg. body weight daily for 3-5 days. 
Young animals: Dosage 50% higher.

CONTRAINDICATIONS: 
- Hypersensitivity to penicillin, procaine and/or aminoglycosides. 
- Administration to animals with a serious impaired renal function. 
- Concurrent administration with tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, macrolides and lincosamides. 

SIDE EFFECTS:
- Administration of therapeutic dosages of procaine penicillin G can result in abortion in sows. 
- Ototoxity, neurotoxicity or nephrotoxicity. 
- Hypersensitivity reactions. 

WITHDRAWAL TIME:
- For kidney: 45 days. 
- For meat: 21 days. 
- For milk: 3 days. 

WARNING: 
Keep out of reach of children.

RECOMMENDED SHELF LIFE:
3 years.

STORAGE:
Store in cool places (max 25ºC). Do not expose to light.

PACKING:
50ml and 100ml per bottle.
